Rosalyn Sweat received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Prairie View A&M University in 1999 and her master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas Southern University in 2003. She began her teaching career at Aldine Middle School where she was assigned to teach 8th grade reading. In 2004, she was promoted to Assistant Principal at Aldine Middle School. In 2008, she was named Assistant Principal at Aldine Ninth Grade School. She became a member of Houston A+ Challenge’s Cohort II in 2009 and served a year-long residency as a Principal Intern at Carver Magnet High School and Parker Intermediate School. After completing her residency, she was named Assistant Principal at Eisenhower Senior High School. Mrs. Sweat has 12 years of experience in education and all of those years have been in Aldine I.S.D. She was named the Principal of Carver Magnet High School for the school year 2011-2012. Assistant Principal: Natalya Henderson holds a Bachelors Degree in Applied Music from the University of New Orleans, which she received in 1993. She obtained a Masters in Music from the University of Houston in 1996. From 1994-1996 Natalya begin signing with Houston Grand Opera, while simultaneously working towards her certification/Masters in Music. After two years of performing, in 1996 Natalya begin teaching in the Aldine Independent School District. At this point her teaching career started at Stovall Middle School. She returned back to school in 1998 and received a certification in Administration in 2000 from the University of Houston. She begin working as an Assistant Principal at Nimitz High School in 2001, where she remained for 5 years. Presently she is the Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Carver Magnet High School.

Isabella Ontiveros graduated in 1998 from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and in 2001 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. After graduate school Ms. Ontiveros worked as an academic advisor at Kingwood College. After completing her alternative teaching certification through Region 4 she began teaching in Aldine I.S.D. at Vines EC/Pre-K Center. Ms. Ontiveros then taught in San Antonio for 7 years before coming back to Stephens Elementary in Aldine I.S.D. in 2009. She has been the Visual Arts Counselor at Carver Magnet High School since 2010.

Assistant Principal: Eric Coleman has served as an assistant principal at Carver Magnet High School for 13 years. He served as a Mathematics teacher for 6 years at G. W. Carver(Aldine Contemporary Center). He has received his B.S. in Secondary Education and M.Ed in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University.

Phyllis Brown has been with Aldine ISD for 17 years, 10 years as a Mathematics teacher and 7 years as a High School Counselor. She has been at Carver Magnet High School for three years. She attended Prairie View A&M University earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Mathematics. She is certified in Mathematics and Counseling.

Assistant Principal: Educator, Counselor, and Administrator, Yolanda Calhoun graduated from Sam Houston State University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching in Special Education with a minor in Mathematics and a Master of Education in Counseling. She later attended Prairie View A& M University earning a Master of Education in Administration and working towards Superintendent Certification. She is certified in Special Education, Mathematics, Counseling, and Administration. She has been employed in Aldine ISD for 17 years, 9 years at Aldine High School as a Special Education and Mathematics Teacher and Counselor, 7 years at Eisenhower High School as an Administrator, and Carver Magnet High School as an Administrator.

Helen J. Houston holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Huston Tillotson University and a Masters of Education Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Prairie View A&M University. She is Life certified in Vocational Counseling, Academic Counseling, and Career Orientation. Mrs. Houston has been in Education for 30 years. She has served as a high school counselor for 18 of her 30 years. She has been in Aldine ISD at Carver Magnet High School for 10 years as the counselor for Engineering Technology.
