Magnet School of Visual Arts Dept Chair: Megan McEntire
Artist and Educator, Megan McEntire, is a graduate of HISD’s High School for Performing and Visual Arts and New York City’s Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Having never found a material she didn’t like, Ms. McEntire teaches Electronic Media, Design and Art History to Carver’s visually inclined achievers. During the summer, besides taking art classes, she enjoys traveling, cooking and the occasional roller derby match.

Technology Specialist: Andy McCracken
I have a B.S. degree in Music Performance and Education from The Ohio State University, a Masters degree in Education/Administration from the University of Phoenix and 12 hours of graduate courses in Information Technology from the University of North Texas. I have been teaching for 16 years in Aldine. I spent the last 15 years at Worsham Elementary, where I taught music for five years and the performed the duties of Technology Specialist for the next 10 years. This year I moved to Carver High School as the Technology Specialist. I am certified in Music Education (K-12), History (8-12), and am in the process of gaining certification as an administrator.

Magnet School of Engineering Department Chair: Carolyn Carrier
Social Science Department Chair: Mary Wright
A native Texan who graduated from La Porte High School, I attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University), and received my Bachelor of Science in Teacher Education from the University of Houston. I have taught Social Sciences at Carver Magnet High School for over 24 years. Teaching assignments include Government, Economics, Advanced Placement Government and Politics, and Advanced Placement Microeconomics. Currently serving as the Student Council Sponsor and Social Science Department Chairperson for Carver High School.

Math Department
I am a native Houstonian, and 1990 graduate of Texas South University, where I recieved a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I taught for seven years in the Houston Community Collage System before joining the Aldine ISD family in 1997. I taught Geometry for one year at at Aldine High School, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus at Carver Magnet High School. I am a state certified Master of Mathematics Teacher and an active participant in the Mathematics Leadership Institute through Rice University. Currently, I am serving as department chair and skill specialist for the math department at Carver High School.
