Mission:
MacArthur’s peer tutoring program follows the state BESTT curriculum, and is based on Vygotsky’s research which proves that students work best in small groups with guidance from more capable peers to understand new concepts, then can apply the new understanding more independently and confidently. Skills coaches are assigned to work with struggling students in a variety of class rooms and content areas. Peer tutoring develops skills of both the coach and the student being tutored; a rewarding experience for all involved.
Participation in/meeting requirements of the Peer Tutoring Program = seniors earn a cord at graduation

Students must adhere to district academic, attendance, and behavioral requirements in order to try out and participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
