Steve Kearley

Steve Kearley was named Eisenhower High School Teacher of the Year for the 2003-2004 school year.

Mr. Kearley has taught Social Studies for 7 years at Eisenhower, the same high school he graduated from in 1989. He attended the University of Houston, University Park from 1993 to 1997 where he received a BA in History. Currently he is teaching Economics and AP Macroeconomics.

Mr. Kearley leads several extracurricular organizations important to Eisenhower. Along with Mr. Schwabenland, he has been an Academic Decathlon Coach for 4 years. He is the founder and director of the Camp Soar Program, a summer program at Eisenhower for local youth between the ages of 8 - 11.

Mr. Kearley and his wife, Teresa, have a 6 year old daughter, Brittney and are expecting twins in late October. He is very active in wheelchair rugby and has played and coached with the Pasadena Texans since 1998. As a player with Team USA, he has attended the World Championships in Christchurch, NZ (1999 Gold Medalist), the Paralympics in Sydney Australia (2000,1st Alternate) and the World Championships in Gottenberg, Sweden (2002 Siver Medalist.)
