Mrs. Ruby Allen, Principal |
Mrs. Allen began her career in Aldine in 1991 at Hoffman Middle School where she was assigned to teach 7th & 8th grade Language Arts. In 1994 she transferred to Carroll Academy as the school counselor. In 1999 she was named Assistant Principal at the same school. In 2002 she became the principal of Carroll Academy and transferred to Houston Academy in 2006 as the principal.

Dr. Evette Shelby-King, Assistant Principal |
Dr. Shelby-King began her teaching career in North Forest ISD. She transferred to Aldine ISD from Lewisville ISD in the Fall of 1999. She taught at Stovall Middle School before being promoted to an Educational Service Manager at Eisenhower Senior High. Mrs. Shelby-King has been in the Magnet Schools since 2002 where she served as Assistant Principal at Drew Academy prior to coming to Houston Academy.
Mrs. Shelby-King earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Houston-Central Campus and her master's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Dr Shelby-King earned her doctoral degree from Texas A&M University. | |

Mr. Mark Mitchell, Assistant Principal |
Mr. Mitchell began his teaching career in Aldine in 1992 at Anderson Academy as a PE assistant. The following year, he transferred to Inwood Baptist School as a PE teacher and head basketball coach. In 1994 he was promoted to Administrative Assistant in charge of discipline and then in 1998 to Head Administrator. In 2000 he transferred to Texas Christian High School as Dean of Students and Athletic Director. In 2003 he returned to Aldine as a computer instructional assistant at Harris Academy. In 2005 was promoted as Technology Specialist. In 2006 he was transferred to Houston Academy. Mr. Mitchell was promoted to his current position as Assistant Principal at Houston Academy in August 2010.
Mr. Mitchell is a graduate of the College of Biblical Studies. | | |

Mrs. Shanna Shotwell, Counselor |
Mrs. Shotwell began her teaching career in Aldine ISD in 1983 at Conley Elementary as a second grade teacher. She later became an adaptive behavior teacher at the same school. In 1990, she transferred to Gray Elementary as the school counselor. With the opening of Magnet Schools Mrs. Shotwell transferred to Anderson Academy as the counselor and later moved to Houston Academy.

Ms. Nichole Thompson, Magnet Coordinator |
Ms. Thompson is the Instructional Support Specialist at Houston Academy. Prior to Houston Academy, she worked as the 21st Century Grant Coordinator, Parent/Community Liaison, and 4th grade Language Arts teacher at Bethune Academy. Ms. Thompson began her teaching career in 1994 in Austin Independent School District, as a 5th grade Special Education Teacher.

Mrs. Danielle Jackson, Assessment Specialist |
Mrs. Jackson is the Assessment Specialist at Houston Academy. Prior to Houston Academy, she was the Assessment Specialist at Anderson Academy and Bethune Academy.
Mrs. Jackson received her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX and her master’s degree from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX. She began her teaching career in Aldine ISD in 1993 where she taught at Anderson Academy.
