Dance |

Houston Academy Dance students learn various styles of dance: ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap and modern throughout the school year. Dance students perform on campus and around the community. Students also learn basic anatomy, history, choreography and creative dance skills. The dance skills they learn at Houston Academy broaden their knowledge of dance and fine arts, which will help them improve in other areas during their educational journey. | |

The rapidly changing world of technology makes it difficult to be knowledgeable in the latest technological breakthrough. Though, at Houston Academy we teach our students with the most popular equipment and latest programs in digital painting, digital photography and digital video. With this digital media, we teach art and visual communication with the use of the computer as another media only to strengthen the imagination of our students and prepare them for the business world. |

Whether you are an outgoing leader or a quiet listener, Drama Class can be fun for all. In Drama class students learn about acting, script writing, impromptu speaking, audience etiquette, puppetry, pantomime, monologues, and much more! Students enjoy learning through a variety of theatre games, live performances, and even being in movies. If you're interested in being on stage performing, or backstage running technical support, Drama class teaches students all the basics of being in theatre. | |

Musical Theatre |
Houston Academy Musical Theatre classes combine singing, acting, movement and technical theatre (Tech.) to create exciting musical productions. Fifth and sixth grade students are welcomed at the beginning, intermediate and advance levels. Students interested in music and theatre will learn how to sing and act for staged musicals. Students will design and create costumes, apply face painting and stage make up, beginning tech. (audio and lighting), stage management, set design & building, advertising, pictures and videos for productions. They will also learn how to sing in a choir and read music notation. These fun skills used together, create the wonderful world of Musical Theatre! |

Strings |
Strings class consists of students who range in levels from beginning to advance. Students must choose violin, viola, or cello with the understanding that this is a one year commitment to daily practice towards mandatory concert performance. Students are added to the program when there is an opening available and cannot be guaranteed the instrument they request. However, every effort will be made to accommodate all students. |
