The library is a hub of learning at Parker Intermediate. It is a place where students gain knowledge, increase their understanding of life, and find enjoyable books to read. We are committed to inspiring, creating, and serving 21st century learners. We want our students to be information literate. This means that they can access information efficiently and effectively, evaluate information critically and competently, and use information accurately and creatively.
We know that not every book is right for every student. We strive to provide quality literature, both fiction and non-fiction, to meet the needs and desires of our students, parents, and staff. When selecting books to put on the shelves we get input from our students, parents, and staff members. We use professional resources and reviews to decide what books are appropriate for our students. This allows our students to have access to the best books available.
Ms. Barrios & Mrs. Emanis are here to serve our students, staff, and community. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us via email or phone (281) 233-8944.

Book Check Out:
Students come to the library with their language arts teacher once every two weeks. They may also come to the library during duty room and morning homeroom (8:00-8:40) if they have a pass. Teachers may also send students to the library during the day.
5th grade students may check out 2 books and 6th grade students may check out 3 books. Books are checked out to students for 2 weeks, but students may turn the books in early if they are finished with them.

Overdue Books:
When books are checked out, the due date is stamped in the back. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure their books are turned in on time. If books are turned in late, students will be charged $.10 per book for each day the book is late. Books that are lost must be paid for by the end of the school year. Students that have overdue books, late fines, and/or lost books may not check out additional books until their record has been cleared. Before a student withdraws they must have a clear library record.
