SAFE AND SECURE
METAL DETECTOR USE:
In order to maintain a safe and secure environment at parker for students and staff, administrators are authorized to conduct daily metal detector searches. Stationary or hand held devices shall be utilized. Parker will follow a standard procedure conducted by assigned, trained staff under the supervision of the campus administration. Metal detectors are utilized daily as students enter campus. Students will walk through metal detectors and will have backpacks (must be clear) and purses open. Students are expected to know that they will submit to a daily screening as a condition of entering the school campus. If a metal detector activates, the student will be asked to remove metal objects from his/her possession and walk through the scanner again. If further action is necessary, the student should be taken out of view from other students and will then be searched.

HARASSMENT/BULLYING:
Harassment can be anything from excessive teasing to physically pushing someone to try to frighten him/her. We are dedicated to do all that we can to stop this type of behavior. Since this usually happens when adults are not present, it is important for students to inform their teachers or school personnel when this happens. The administration will handle harassment complaints very sternly, quickly, and with the utmost confidentiality in order to protect students. It is especially important that students help us stop this and other types of misbehavior. We need your cooperation and help making this a safe, orderly, and friendly school year for all students.

ALCOHOL, DRUGS, and WEAPONS:
Any student under the influence or possession of alcohol and/or drugs, knives, or firearms, or any other weapon will be expelled from school up to the remainder of the school year. We maintain high safety standards and expect that these rules are followed.
