Anderson Welcomes the Houston Texans and United Way
The NFL/United Way "Hometown Huddle" is an NFL-wide day of service that provides NFL players, coaches, wives and staff from each team the opportunity to participate in a variety of community-service activities. The Houston Texans visited our campus in April 2009.
The program was started in 1999 by the NFL and United Way. Hometown Huddle continues to help make a difference in local communities.
Houston Texans Rookies Take Time Out for Pictures
The Rookies and a couple of Texans Cheerleaders came to Anderson to visit with the 3rd grade students. They told the kids how important it is for them to stay active and fit. The players did warm-up stretches, then some drills and different activities. The cheerleaders taught the girls a dance routine.
Afterwards, they had a question and answer session where the students asked different questions and then we took group pictures.
At the end, the players, cheerleaders and United Way volunteers walked through the school for a mini pep-rally given by the 1st and 2nd graders.
