Make a Difference Day |
The faculty, students and parents of Odom Elementary participated in Aldine ISD’s Make a Difference Day by helping our neighbors in need and donating hygiene items to NAMS (Northwest Assistance Ministries). We collected three plastic tote containers full of soap, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, shampoo, napkins and tissue. The NAMS staff was very appreciative of our donations. |

Generation Texas Week |
The week of November 14-November 18, Odom Elementary celebrated Generation Texas Week, formally known as Education Go Get It Week. The students and staff celebrated the week by dressing to impress, students dressed as to what they wanted to be when they grew up, and we wore shades because “our futures are bright”, and we ended the week with college shirts. The fourth grade students had two guest speakers. The first was Twiana Collier, Coordinator of student financial aid, and Mr. Brewer from Houston Tae Kwon Do. Mrs. Collier spoke to the students about the importance of receiving good grades, making good choices, and how this can impact their lifelong learning. Mr. Brewer spoke to the students about being respectful, having good manners, and how this can affect them in life. Both speakers were motivational and the students are excited about going to college. |
