Parental Involvement

*Odom has several opportunities for you to become involved. The first step is to complete a background check. This may be done by going to www.aldine.k12.tx.us/cbc

*Once the background check is done, within a week, call the school to see if you have been approved to volunteer

*If you completed a background check last year, you must do so again this year

Padres Voluntarios

*Nuestra escuela, Odom, tiene varias oportunidades para que usted como Padre se involucre como voluntario. El primer paso es completar un Chequeo de Antecedentes Penales. Esto lo puede hacer a traves de la pagina de internet www.aldine.k12.tx.us/cbc

*Una vez que el chequeo de antecedentes penales está listo, durante una semana, llame a la escuela para verificar que haya sido aprobado

*Una vez que sea aprobado Usted como voluntario podra ayudar en el salón de clases, asistir a días de campo para yudar a cuidar a los estudiantes, ayudar a la organizacion de padres (PTO) y oparticpar en los eventos planeados durante el año escolar como Festival, recaudacion de fondos, etc

*Cada año se necesita checar los antecedentes penales, si ya lo hizo el año pasado, se necesita volver a hacerlo este año

Homework Policy

Students are assigned homework every day at Odom Elementary. The following schedule has been provided to communicate to parents which subject they should expect to see homework for their child on each designated day. In the event your child has not been assigned homework, per the provided schedule, please contact Odom Elementary at 281-878-0390.



  • Monday - Language Skill
  • Tuesday - Math Skill
  • Wednesday - Reading Skill
  • Thursday - Math Word Problems
  • Monday-Thursday Cougar Reading Counts: In addition to the homework assigned, students are expected to read a minimum of 20 minutes every evening.
  • Homework will be given daily Monday through Thursday

    Homework will be a review of skills that have already been introduced in the classroom

    Homework wii be reviewed with students the next day in class

    Arrival and Dismissal policies:

    Parents/Guardians may drop off students after 7:00 a.m. Breakfast is served between 7:00 and 7:45. School dismissal begins at 3:00 p.m. We have a procedure for dismissal and thanks to our parents, it works efficiently everyday! If your child's mode of transportation changes, please call the school or send a note with your child. We can not take any changes of transportation over the phone. Thank you for your patience and cooperation in assuring for the safety and welfare of all of our students.
