Named for the former Aldine I. S. D. Deputy Superintendent, Kenneth D. Black Elementary School opened its doors in August, 1989. An extraordinary individual, Mr. Black, guided a generation of teachers and administrators during his professional career. He taught us to demand perfection in ourselves and to expect nothing less. He sought to develop each of us that perfect blend of creativity and expertise. He believed in us, and under his watchful eye, gave us the freedom to develop our own individual talents. Mr. Black was "teacher" in every sense of the word. He made things happen. He loved reading, he loved teachers, he loved his school, but most of all he loved children.
